Charmy, Vamsi Live In Opposite Flats!

Charmy is slowly replacing Ramya Krisha. That‘s neither in acting nor in stardom, but in being the darling to the director Krishna Vamshi.

It is an open secret that Ramya Krishna and Krishna Vamshi are not living together like any other wedded couple. Charmy, who was once very close to Krishna Vamshi, wants to capitalize the ‘gap‘.

She bought the flat opposite to his dwelling in Jayabheri Apartments. After her ex lover Devisri Prasad ditched her, she too was need of a boy friend. Krishna Vamsi and Charmy are always found dining together most of the days.

Well, while Kareena is dating with middle aged Saif, should we find wrong with Charmy dating Krishna Vamsi?

Now Pawan Kalyan is Free From Nandini

Actor Pawan Kalyan is free from the wedlock. A high filmy drama finally separated the couple. Even the separation, which held at the family court in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, preceded another high drama, everything to divert the attention of the media.

The members of the media were waiting outside the family court when members of both parties have arrived. Pawan Kalyan, along with a select group of supporters entered the court. Nandini’s family, which dragged Pawan Kalyan to the court, played different game all together.

Nandini’s father presented girls who look like Nandini (dupes) in about half-a-dozen cars, just to mislead the media persons. As the media persons were trying to identify the real Nandini, the original had gone into the court and declared that she agreed for divorce.

Anything that happens in the film families would appear like another film. Be it divorce case of Pawan Kalyan or the opening of the party office of Chiranjeevi. It will be conducted like a film in the filmy style. Right from the filing of the case to the out-of-the-court settlement, a number of episodes were seen by the people for the past 14 months. And every episode was a movie for itself.

Film industry yet to act on Chiru

Vijayawada: The film industry in Vijayawada city is yet to move in favour of Megastar Chiranjeevi for his political party.

The distributors, who form the core group for the industry in the coastal district were among the first batch of supporters who pooled up funds for NTR in 1982, when he launched Telugu Desam. The Laxmi Pictures, Navayuga Films and others mobilised funds for NTR from Vijayawada.

Gandhinagar, the hub of film industry in coastal districts, was the collection point for Telugu Desam in the early days. Besides the family members and relatives of NTR, the film distributors used to meet often here and mobilise funds for the new party.

However, the activity is missing this time, even as Chiru had opened the party office and is gearing up to hold public meeting at Tirupathi. It is to be seen how the industry in the city responds to the political aspirations of the Megastar.

Charmy As 'Mantrakanya'

The charming beauty Charmy who was considered a seductive beauty who can ooze out glamour at any instant showed a completely different side when she came up with a mind blowing performance in the hit movie 'Manthra' which was an edge of the seat thriller. Now, the folks in the industry are trying to cash in on that success and of course the title also.

Few years ago Charmy had done a Malayalam movie which turned out to be an average fare but given the 'Mantra' connection, a banner has now taken the dubbing rights of the film and is arranging to release it with a new title 'Mantrakanya'.

While the story and contents of the film are being kept under wraps for now, the title indicates that it has got some sort of spooky stuff in it which can cause some hair rising experiences. The point here is whether Charmy came out with the same kind of performance that she delivered in 'Mantra', we will know once the film hits the screens.

Anushka- The Sexiest Cleopatra Of Tollywood

Anushka is the yoga teacher by practice, actress by profession and seductress by nature. She captivated many biggies in Tollywood with her smile and voluptuous looks. And her body, of course resembles the statute of Greek goddess. And her gait pumps in heat among men. All together, she is the Venus in Tollywood.

Then who can resist her heat? The grapevine earlier said that Nagarjuna was in her trap and turned her protective shield. She turned out to be regular guest in Annapurna Studios. Later there has been gossip about her love with camera man Senthil. Later Ravi Teja's name has also come in the list.

And now, freshly, the popular hearsay is about her love with Gopichand. It is said that both are very intimate with each other in the sets of Souryam and they would soon become a public love pair. Indeed, we can call Anushka, the sexiest Cleopatra of Tollywood.

Aamir's off screen promo(s)!

It is not a new one to vision Aamir Khan in a commercial but this time it is different. He recently met Central Tourism Minister Ambika Soni and while offered to role as brand ambassador for the international campaign on Indian Tourism, Incredible India.

The campaign was launched in 2002 to showcase the countries unique heritage and cultural richness and reached widely and had visible impact on the rise in tourism.

However, the ministry is yet to decide about the type of campaign for the coming year. The actor also unaware of the script and decided to cast out of cost.

While mentioning about the 'Lagan' experience which is according to the actor helped to create a platform for India awareness among the foreigners to visit the country.

Aamir appealed to people to light billion candles whenever there is a bomb blast and he asked for spread love and peace while terrorist spread poison and hatred.

In another development while speaking with media persons he said that he will direct all kinds of movies and TZP earned Rs 133 Crore in the Box Office.

The actor came out with much appreciation for the movie 'Amu' based on the 1984 riots against Sikhs and directed by Shonali Bose. And also said life is to respected and sensitize the thought among the public would benefit across the society.

Mallika saved during MGMEA shoot

Sexy Diva Mallika Sherawat almost got drowned whilst shooting for the mad cap comedy "Maan Gaye Mughall E Azam". Director Sanjay Chhel reminisces that whilst shooting a sequence from the film in Pondicherry, Mallika was required to play a stringed instrument standing in a waist deep chilled sea water.

But whilst shooting there was this massive high tide that almost dragged her inside the sea. She could feel the sand sinking under her feet. Sanjay Chhel and the production unit were quite concerned and wanted to cancel the shoot. But Mallika insisted she wanted to complete the sea water shoot despite the risks involved.

Infact Mallika's sensual look in the sea – water scene has turned out to be one of the highlights of the film.

Mission, Madness, Mohabbat as the tag line of the film suggests, Maan Gaye Mughall E Azam has got it all!!!

Nayantara Is Costly Babe Now

It appears that remunerations and fees for top stars seem to be knowing no limits or bounds and it has become more like a share market situation wherein stars go exorbitant if their movie turns out to be a hit or end up becoming a tame pet if their graphs are not doing that well. Earlier, this was seen a lot among the male leads but now this has crept up to the female leads too.

One starlet we can talk about here is the hot beauty from Malayalam Nayantara. The once fragile actress started off at a humble rate and has been getting some real meaty offers with big names to her credit but suddenly her graph seems to have taken a spike which has led her to take an extreme step when it came to her remuneration.

Nayan was charging around Rs 1.10 crores which in itself was a very high number when compared to other heroines but now she has pushed her demand even further as her numbers have gone up and she is said to be demanding nothing less than Rs 1.50 crores and above. This has sent some producers spiraling in their heads and one hopes that Nayan knows where she is heading. Her numbers when it comes to her figure seem to be perfect but when it comes to her fee, it looks a bit ambitious.

Kashmir militants attack on Telugu film unit

Jagapati Babu, Meera Jasmine and other unit members escaped narrowly in a militant attack in Kashmir when they are shooting for a Telugu film. The film is produced by Dasari Narayana Rao under Sowbhagya Media Limited banner. Jonnalagadda Srinivasa Rao is the director. The film unit has sought police protection.

Rajamouli's Slap To Heroes

Gone are the days when heroes take their time and establish themselves as a star of one particular genre. These days it is not about what you can do best, it is about what can make you famous and convert you into a celebrity overnight. That is what making many stars opting for mass characters, while some click, some fail despite many attempts.

A similar view was expressed by the successive hits film maker S S Rajamouli, sharing his thoughts with a film magazine recently in an interview he said that heroes craving for mass images have actually brought down the standards in the Telugu film industry.

This comes across as a rather enlightening words coming from a senior personality and true to S S words, the quality of the dialogues has become more of slang than a sentence. The kind of regard that the Malayalam and the Bengali industries have developed over the years is commendable and it is rather shameful that Telugu is not in that league despite having the best infrastructure and the right kind of talent to nurture quality cinema.

Behind The Scene: Ramoji and his ethics!

Vijayawada: Media baron, Ch Ramoji Rao, is known for his own set of rules – be it business or the freedom of press. He has always being using them to the best of his convenience.

He has launched Mundadugu programme to sensitise people on the Right to Information Act and ensure that every piece of information is made available to the people. But he twists some information to target the government (Agriculture University’s survey on farming in the State, which was carried out during Naidu’s regime) and he smashes some to hide facts (fire accident in Ramoji Film City and manhandling of Sakshi reporters in Basara).

He has been proved to have violated the norms of the Reserve Bank of India and the Income Tax Department in collecting deposits from public for the Margadarsi. He waged war against a number of co-operative banks and forced their closure. He carried out series of articles in Eenadu against private chit fund companies and ensured their closure. He prompted officials to stop Micro Finance activity. Every thing was done to protect and promote his Margadarsi. But, when the officials realised that Margadarsi had violated rules, he spoke of freedom of press and tried to rally the top media persons by misleading them.

The other day, when Ramoji’s family assaulted the reporters of Sakshi at Basara, there was no mention of it nor was there any apology for the incident in Eenadu. The reports relating to journalists holding protests was also not mentioned in the paper! This is what the freedom of press that Ramoji teaches the media.

Senior journalists and media bigwigs, are you listening?

Chiru swaps black shirt for white kurta

Hyderabad: After months of suspense, dithering and denial, megastar Chiranjeevi made it clear on Monday that he is entering politics.

Swapping his trademark black half shirt for a white kurta symbolising his new avatar, the actor whose real name is Konidala Sivasankara Varaprasad, said he would announce his plans next week. The actor inaugurated his party office on Road Number 46 at Jubilee Hills.

Political observers feel that the entry of Chiranjeevi into politics is likely to change the political equations in the state. With a strong presence of the Kapu community (to which he belongs) in the coastal region and the likely rallying of the backward classes all over the state behind him, the actor has the potential of seriously challenging the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party, the two biggest entities in the state.

Genelia is crazy about football player

She might have made a place for herself in everyone’s hearts as the cute Aditi, but Genelia D’Souza insists she became an actress by accident. “Honestly speaking, I didn’t ever dream of acting in my life. I’m a sport person and have been a state level athlete and a national level football player. For me, acting was never on the cards. It just happened, accidentally,” said the lass, when we met her recently.

Does that mean she will be watching the Olympics? “It’s great to see sports being promoted in India. And yes, I will be keenly following the Beijing Olympics, but not by sitting in front of the TV. Frankly, I’m more of a playing person rather than a viewer,” says Genelia. Any fave sportsperson, then? “My all time favourite football player is David Beckham. I just admire his looks and the style he plays the game,” says Genelia

Salman not to patch up with SRK

Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan has had enough of Shah Rukh Khan and is no longer interested in patching up with the Badshah. “We are two different individuals with different perspectives. I used to like him a lot, but things have changed. We do not see eye-to-eye now,” Salman told reporters on Sunday night, on the sets of his newly-launched film Veer at Mehboob studios.

His remarks come amid reports of a nasty verbal duel between the two Khans at a party on July 16, which Salman had organized for girlfriend Katrina Kaif ’s birthday. Almost the entire industry was there, including Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan. Towards the end when most guests had left, an altercation reportedly broke out between Salman and Shah Rukh over their respective TV shows — Dus Ka Dum and Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain. SRK stormed out of the party with wife Gauri and friend Karan Johar in tow. Aamir tried to intervene but the two Khans were in no mood to make up.

[mahesh+babu.jpg]

Mahesh to team up with Goutham Menon

In the week leading upto his birthday on August 9th, Mahesh Babu’s fans have organised events such as pujas, distributing food to the poor and distributing fruits to poor hospital inmates. These activities have given rise to massive speculation that the chocolate-faced hero would be dabbling in politics, but Mahesh Babu has denied any interest in that arena.

With the question-mark of Mahesh Babu’s political aspirations hanging in the air, superstar dad Krishna announced this week to the press that his prince, Mahesh Babu, has agreed to do three films. Mahesh-Trivikram Srinivas' flick (working title Varudu) will start shooting this month; Goutham Menon and Mahesh Babu will collaborate on another project at the end of 2008. The much talked-about project with Puri Jagannath (to be produced by Soundraya Rajnikanth, Ocher Studios and Warner Bros) has been pushed to next year, but confirmed dates were not revealed. As usual, the scripts for all three movies were vetted and approved by the head of the house before any formal deal was signed by the Telugu heart-throb.

The Goutham Menon flick will be a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil to be produced by UTV and Manjula.

Krishna was the very picture of the proud parent as he enthusiastically said Mahesh’s reach throughout India was extremely good with the signing of these three mega projects, especially the one with the international production hous

Neninthe: Puri's life story?

Neninthe: Puri's life story?

Just as Ravi Teja’s next flick Baladoor is getting ready for an Independence Day release, Neninthe too is progressing briskly. Directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by D.V.V. Danayya, Ravi Teja portrays an assistant director, which is how Puri Jagannath started his film career.

Insiders say that Puri has given it an autobiographical touch, with the portrayal of how an assistant director goes through numerous struggles to become a hotshot director. Siya, a Mumbai model, gives a touch of glamour and romance as the heroine.

Anushka's films to flood Tollywood

Her first release this season would be 'Baladoor'. It is coming in the combination of Raviteja, after a big hit like 'Vikramarkudu'. The film had lots of expectations.

Besides these three glamorous characters, a lady-oriented film 'Arundhati' is also going to hit the screen. It is learnt that she shed lots of body weight and is appearing with a fresh look these days.

Kathanayukudu' will not spoil Shahrukh's chances – Priyadarshan

'Kathanayakudu' has released with heightened fanfare and is running to packed houses in Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. As already reported Rajinikanth's 'Kathanayakudu' is the remake of the Malayalam film 'Katha Parayumbol' written by Sreenivasan.

Another Malayalam filmmaker who has been quite successful in Hindi films as well, Priyadarshan, is remaking the film in Hindi with Shahrukh Khan and Irfan Khan in the lead roles and the movie is called 'Billoo Barber'.

There was speculation in the media that 'Kathanayakudu' would be dubbed in Hindi soon. According to this information, Shahrukh Khan was reportedly in panic because Hindi audiences would see Rajinikanth in the role he is slated to play. 'Billoo Barber is expected to be released during the Diwali season.

This report also added that Rajinikanth had stepped in and assured Shahrukh Khan that the dubbed version of 'Kathanayakudu' would not be released before Diwali.

A new light is now thrown on this entire episode. Director Priyadarshan has declared that 'Kathanayakudu' cannot be dubbed into any other language.

Says Priyadarshan, 'when P. Vasu and his team approached Sreenivasan for acquisition of copyright, he consulted with me. We agreed to go ahead with all their requests because they were adamant Rajinikanth would be cast in the film. However, we made sure to include a clause that said 'Kathanayakudu' cannot be dubbed in any other language'.

Priyadarshan also added that 'Billoo Barber' would be very different from 'Kathanayakudu'. 'Only the ending of both the movies would be the same. I have always maintained that Irfan Khan would be the main character of the film and not Shahrukh Khan'.

'Rajinikanth is introduced in the film riding a winged horse. My portrayal of the 'superstar' character would be more on a realistic approach. It will be very different from 'Kathanayakudu'' said an assertive Priyadarshan.

With Priyadarshan's statement, all speculation as to 'Kathanayakudu' spoiling Shahrukh Khan's dreams can be laid to rest once and for all.

'Baladoor' to be an Independence Day gift

Directed by Udayshankar and produced by D Sureshbabu on the banner of Suresh Productions, 'Baladur' with Raviteja and Anushka in the lead is ready for release as an Independence Day gift.

Sureshbabu says, 'The audio which was released recently into the market through Aditya Music is getting tremendous response. The audio remained the best album in Raviteja's career with huge sales. The first copy would be ready in a couple of days and we will immediately go for censor certification.'

Lyricist Chandrabose says, 'There is no exaggeration to say that the audio has become a big hit. We are getting phone calls from the audience from far off places like Indianapolis country, who specified that song like 'Andamaina kalala kuteeram…' had come out very well. 'Gundello Illundi…' and 'Amrutam Kurisina Teeram…' also got good response. Radhakrishnan scored fantastic tunes to all the songs.'

Radhakrishnan says, 'I was so fortunate to get an opportunity to work for a prestigious banner like Suresh Productions. So I worked hard to give melodious tunes to all the songs. When there is a clarity on the story, we could provide situational songs well.'

Director Udayshankar says, 'All the songs have come out well and their choreography is also worth watching. The film will also have the Raviteja-mark comedy. It has several elements with different emotions.'

Chiranjeevi all set to launch his party at Tirupati

Hyderabad, Aug 6 (IANS): Popular Telugu film star Chiranjeevi is all set to take a plunge into Andhra Pradesh politics and launch his own party from the temple town of Tirupati this month.

The mega star is likely to address a public meeting in the temple town Aug 22, his birthday, to announce his political party and its agenda.

The actor has selected Tirupati as the platform to launch his political career because of his attachment to the place, famous for the Lord Venkateshwara temple.

Chiranjeevi’s brother-in-law and advisor Allu Arvind Wednesday visited Tirupati as part of the preparations for the public meeting. He visited a few grounds in the town to select the venue for the meeting but declined to comment.

The meeting is likely to be attended by thousands of people from various parts of the state and abroad.

The actor, who has a massive fan following, recently told media that he would announce his party in August. After the meeting, he will embark on a state-wide yatra or tour to prepare ground for the assembly and the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held in March next year.

The actor’s brother K. Nagendra Babu, brother-in-law Allu Arvind and some close aides have been holding meetings of various sections of people for the last few weeks, as part of preparations for the new party’s launch.

Sources close to Chiranjeevi said he would contest the elections from the Tirupati constituency. He will thus be following in the footsteps of thespian and Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) late founder N.T. Rama Rao, who considered the temple town auspicious for his politics.

Chiranjeevi is looking to repeat NTR’s feat, who created a record by coming to power within nine months of his founding the TDP. NTR also contested elections from Tirupati and launched every election campaign from that town.

Chiru’s party on 24 th Aug.

Hyderabad Aug 07: Superstar Chiranjeevi will launch his political party at a public meeting in Tirupati on August 24. Sources close to the actor said all arrangements were complete and everyone was waiting for the final nod from Chiranjeevi. The associates of the actor had toyed with two dates, August 21 and 26, for the launch. But as both dates had muhurat problems, they zeroed in on August 24. Chiranjeevi will also be throwing a grand party for his colleagues in the Telugu film industry on August 10 in which he would announce his decision to enter politics and seek their cooperation.

Sources said artists who do not have good vibes with Chiranjeevi such as Mohan Babu and Rajasekhar will also be invited to the party. This bash is likely to have the tone of a farewell party since Chiranjeevi may not sign films once he enters politics. Many directors and actors have come forward to join the party. Among them are noted director Puri Jagannath, star Srikanth and comedian Brahmanandam.

Chiranjeevi has decided to contest from his native place Narsapuram in West Godavari district, where he expects huge support from members of the Kapu community. Incidentally, after delimitation, Narsapuram will be the smallest constituency in the state. After launching his party, Chiranjeevi will go on a three-month state-wide tour to spread his message. A special vehicle with all facilities has been readied for the tour and a detailed plan is being worked out.

16 days is charmi special movie...

Post-production works are going on at a brisk pace for movie 16 days directed by Prabhu Solomon and produced by P Maheshbabu and DY Choudary under the banner of Cosmos Entertainments with Charmi in the lead. Aravind is making his debut as hero through this film.

Director says, "The film has come out excellently. After the release of the film, everyone would talk great about Charmi. She has played the role which is similar to an angel. Though the hero is a fresher, he took a lot of risk in the film. The performance of Kota Srinivasa Rao and his cooperation while making film are just immemorable."

Political scribes are different, Chiru....

There is a peculiar problem with film stars entering politics. They are used to interacting only with film correspondents, most of whom do not command respect before these stars. This is not to belittle any film correspondent, but many of them also do PR job for the film stars; therefore, whatever the stars dictate, they write it.

So, such film stars tend to think that they can behave similarly with all other reporters.

In the earlier days of entering politics, too, N T Rama Rao used to think that all journalists were same. When he first addressed press conference after launching Telugu Desam, senior political correspondents from leading dailies came to his residence. When he entered the press conference hall, he thought all the correspondents would get up and wish him, as it was his experience with the film journos. But nothing of that sort had happened, as political correspondents were not used to such practice. NTR looked at his then political advisor P Upendra with a frowning face and the latter quietly told him that they were all political correspondents and not film correspondents. It took some time for NTR to deal with political correspondents.

Now, megastar Chiranjeevi, too, is entering politics. Hitherto, he dealt with only film journalists. Now, he would have to encounter political correspondents. He needs to be a little careful while talking to the media, especially since electronic media is hyperactive and has the capacity to distort any news according to its own convenience.

It is learnt he has taken a few mock media sessions to learn how to deal with the media. To be on the safe side, Chiru is said to be asking for a written questionnaire, based on which he would give interviews to the media. Well, that will not serve the purpose, Chiru.

Be prepared for a media onslaught, once you enter politics!

It is the great relief and right for Mega family on the wake of Megastar launching his political party. Otherwise opposition parties would have used Pawan and Nandini case as their political compaign.

Secret Meeting Of Mohan Babu and Rajasekhar

This could seem as a rather unusual meeting but then the old saying that goes on the lines of enemy's enemy is a friend seems to hold good in this particular case. There is strong news that is making rounds that there have been few rounds of secret meetings between Collection King Mohan Babu and Angry man Rajasekhar. This meet has been done very clandestinely.

Given the fact that both Mohan Babu and Rajasekhar are staunch rivals of Megastar Chiranjeevi and the impending arrival of the huge star in the field of politics has garnered a lot of significance to this secret meet. While the details of this secret meeting and the issues and topics discussed still remain a mystery, there are a few obvious guesses.

Chiru from his end is all set to make his announcement on the 8th of this month and it remains to be seen if this meet between Mohan Babu and Rajasekhar will come up with any outcome and we will soon know the after effects of this meet since the time has come for a real showdown. Good luck to all!!!

Chiranjeevi set to don political robes

In several of his blockbusters, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi makes a 'grand entry', often marked by tantalizing precursors that send his fans into rapturous joy.

A similar sense of anticipation grips the political circles in Andhra Pradesh now as the actor is all set to enter politics and announce the launch of a new party this month.

Fifty-three year old Chiranjeevi, who rose from humble background to become the reigning star of Telugu cinema, is expected to announce his political plans in the third week of August which will be followed by a series of public meetings and road shows across the state.

"The announcement will be made without any fanfare. Later, a public meeting will be held in Hyderabad and Tirupati after August 15 where the party's name, agenda and programmes will be unveiled," the sources close to the actor said.

For several months now, there has been a flurry of activity in Chiranjeevi's camp with two of his brothers and brother-in-law, all connected with the Telugu cinema industry, and his close aides organizing meetings with the fans associations and people from various walks of life and training programmes for the potential cadre ahead of the party formation.

Chiranjeevi, a Padma Bhushan awardee who has acted in 148 films in his three decade long career, is among the highest paid actors in the country and has a massive following particularly among the youth.
